A Beautiful, New Hike and Some Wine

On Saturday we headed out for a hike and found a new place. It's not in any of the hiking books because it's on private land, although they allow hikers and bikers as long as we all follow the rules. It was beautiful and fun to explore a new trail. The trail is in Washington, just on the other side of the Columbia River.

It wasn't a very clear day....if it had been, we would have had a fantastic view of Mt. Hood.

A few shots from my iphone and then filtered with Instagram....

After the hike, we ate lunch and then headed further east to The Dalles (this is the name of a town...strange, I know). We had seen that one of our favorite wineries was offering wreath making from grape vines and thought it would be fun to make a wreath and taste some wine. When we got there, the owner told us it was the very last day for the winery to be open. They were closing for good at the end of the day.

We had some wine, made some wreaths and then headed out to another winery we had never been to...Sunshine Mill. Located in an old mill, this place was very cool. It was full of really old, really ugly furniture but it looked great because of the setting.

It was another great weekend for the Foleys! Happy December to you....
