In an effort to escape the wind, we headed south west for a hike today. Our destination was a wildlife refuge that we went to four years ago. It's a good place to hike in the fall / winter, although not all the trails are open.
We came across an apple tree with teeny, tiny apples.
We did some bird watching and saw swans and deer.
And when we found this hollowed out tree, we took turns posing in it.
On our way home we stopped in the town of McMinnville and walked around. This is the heart of wine country in the Willamette Valley so it was a very touristy downtown with lots of shops. We also saw Ben Franklin and Kayleigh got her picture with him.
We came home just in time to see a gorgeous sunset over the lake.
What a nice day! Your pictures are beautiful, as always.
