These are our friends, Marlennis and Ariel. Marlennis is from Dominican Republic and Ariel is from Honduras. Both have been studying environmental technology at the local community college for the past 2 years. I connected with Marlennis because she was a Compassion sponsored child when she was younger.
We've been talking about having them cook a traditional Dominican Republic meal for us and Easter was the perfect time! We had rice and beans (cooked in cilantro, garlic and peppers), chicken (cooked in the same mixture - but first cooked on top of burnt sugar to give it a brown color) and fried plantains.
I was suprised at how much the girls liked it, too.
Your meal sounded so yummy I hope you learned how to fix it so you can fix it for us!!! The girls were beautiful in their dresses and gorgeous smiles!!! Loved the red boots
ReplyDeleteSounds like a wonderful Easter! I love the girls dresses too and also love Kayleigh stylin' with those red boots! Too cute!
