I got my annual delivery of dirt and mulch this week...I think this was the least amount of both I ordered.
We had unusually warm weather this week (mid to high 80s, three days in a row), so it was a good week to get the garden planted. The clouds rolled back in tonight and we have a rainy forecast next week.
The strawberries are looking great....
my perennial garden is crazy good...
everything has come back fuller and healthier
the day lilies and lupine are starting to bloom..
the clematis from last year that did so poorly, is looking good!
and the knock out roses are just starting to bloom...
I cut them down completely in the fall and wasn't sure how they would do, but they are fabulous!
This is my project this year...
I want to create a beautiful walkway here on the side of the house.
I'd love to camouflage the chain link fence somehow,
and create a path lined with ferns and hostas.
I also want to spend $0, so I'm going to have to get creative.
The front yard looks good...no big changes here.
It looked so pretty with all the tulips and daffodils. I'm so glad I planted so many last fall.
a new set of painted stones
And while I hauled dirt and mulch, the girls collected tadpoles and snails from the pond.
They then created a new habitat and even made a sign for it (which they taped to the house).
I think this might be a dead giveaway that we homeschool....
that coral is from Thailand - we found it in the Andaman Sea!
