One of the things I like most about Central Oregon is that there is so much to do, yet it's familiar enough that we don't feel the need to explore every option and we take time to rest. There is also something for everyone!
Kevin woke up early on Thursday morning and went fishing with his friend, Cash. The girls and I had a leisurely morning at the house and went for a walk (to find some breakfast).
When Kevin got back, we went to Shevlin Park to walk around a bit. We'd never gone to this park and it was fun to see something new.
In the evening we walked up Pilot Butte to catch the sunset. There is a great view of the city of Bend from Pilot Butte and we've walked up it several other times. It's so cool to look out at all the little buttes and hills that were produced thousands of years ago from the lava flow when the Newberry Crater erupted.
These blazing star beauties were blooming wildly in the dry, dry ground. Amazing that such beauty can come from such dry conditions.
In this pic you can see Mt. Jefferson basically in the middle....and Mt. Hood is faintly seen on the right.
The sun setting behind the Cascades...
