We had a rainy, windy weekend. Saturday we mostly ran errands and Sunday morning was my Shamrock race in downtown Portland. After running 9.3 miles in the rain, I didn't feel like doing much else the rest of the day.
Thankfully today was sunny and warmer and Kevin had the day off. So....we headed to the coast.
Our first stop was Cannon Beach. We hadn't been here for years and it was fun to walk the uncrowded beach. We played a little frisbee and walked to Haystack Rock.
The tide was still pretty high so we didn't get to explore the tide pools around the haystack rock.
Then we drove south on 101 to Hug Point State Park.
The only other time we were here, it was September and the waterfall was pretty underwhelming. Today it was beautiful.
This is what it looks like from the top of the waterfall.
We stayed here a while and eventually the tide went out far enough that we could start to explore the tide pools.
Then we drove south on 101 a bit further to a new to us state park...Oswald West. There was a short walk through an old growth forest to the beach.
And then we drove further south to Tillamook for some ice cream and cheese curds!
WOW What an awesome day at the beach and beautiful coast! I love your coast! you had a perfect day! And ended well too yum yum
