Home Improvements

Before I left for Illinois I mentioned to Kevin that I wanted to do something to my arbor to make it more sturdy. The honeysuckle that is growing on it was pushing it and making it lean and I wanted to reinforce it somehow. I mentioned that wood would nice, and that maybe we could build something new around the wire arbor and then cut the wire away (so as not to lose the plant).

I never imagined or dreamed of anything this nice, but when I came home from Illinois I was surprised with this...

I don't seem to have any good photos of what was there before - I guess it wasn't photo worthy! Over the weekend Kevin also built me a bigger shoe shelf for the garage. No more shoe towers toppling over on a daily basis.

And, he put in a new light above the dining room table!

And to top it all off, he arranged for the girls to spend Sunday afternoon/night with some friends so he and I could get away and reconnect. It's been a stressful and emotional couple of weeks and we needed to laugh and smile. We had fun wine tasting and walking around one of our favorite towns. And the girls had fun with our friends. I don't know if the friends had fun, but it was a win-win for the Foleys!
