Yesterday our "baby" turned nine...of course, you all know that because you all sent cards (thank you!).
We woke early and went to eat breakfast at a coffee shop. Then we came home for "9 minute school". We did 9 minutes of math, 9 minutes of violin, 9 minutes of reading, 9 minutes of writing and 9 minutes of music appreciation.
Then we headed out to a pumpkin farm!
The pumpkin farm we usually go to every year has closed, so we tried a new one. This one is on Sauvie Island, north of Portland. The island is known for their agriculture and wildlife. This particular pumpkin farm is known for their corn maze.
Every year they do a different design and this year's looked like this....
You could pick up a trivia card to help you get through the maze and there were all different categories. We chose scripture and toddler (that way if we couldn't get the scripture question right, we could read the toddler one and know which way to go!)
Kayleigh requested a rainbow theme and this is what we came up with for decorations.
So glad my garden cooperated and provided colorful flowers! (for some reason Kevin brought home the red and green carnations last week, but everything else came from my garden.)
Thank you for sharing Kayleigh's birthday with us. Looks like she had a wonderful day! Love the pumpkins, the rainbows, the flowers and especially the birthday girl, who looks so grown up! I also love the picture of the sisters holding hands-so sweet! How i wish I could have been there to taste that yummy M&M cake!! xoxo
