We rejoice with Sydney Grace in her baptism!
May 8, 2016
Kevin and I were so happy to share in the joy of this event. Although we have raised our girls in our faith, we have also exposed them to other faiths and had many conversations about religion. We've always hoped our daughters would choose faith in Christ not because we think it's a good world view, not because we think it will give them a comfortable life, not because we believe but rather because we really believe it to be true.
Several months ago Sydney expressed a desire to be baptized and was able to explain to us what this step in her faith journey meant to her.
Our tradition as Anabaptists is to follow the words of Peter in Acts 2:48
Repent and be baptized, every one of you,
in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins.
We believe it's the decision of the believer to repent and be baptized as an act of obedience to God. Because immersion is the only example of baptism we have in Scripture, our church does baptism by immersion.
having been buried with him in baptism,
in which you were also raised with him through your faith in the working of God,
who raised him from the dead.
Colossians 2:12
I just love her smile.

God bless you Sydney Grace! You have chosen to follow Jesus- you have chosen wisely! We love you and are so proud of you!
