The New House

I'm not going to post a lot of "before" photos, but I will post a few so you can see how we completely changed the color scheme of this house. The previous owners lived here 8 years and bought it after someone bought and flipped the house. The color scheme was very warm....

There were several shades of brown and dark cream, orange, hunter green and all the trim was brownish/purple.

We changed all the doors from this....

to this....

The other really big change was the master bedroom.
Before....

After...

We ordered light gray custom blinds and painted 2 walls gray and 2 walls navy blue

There are two closets in the bedroom area, and another walk-in closet in the hallway (across from the bathroom). The one that is open is my violin closet. I have room for all my instruments, music and teaching supplies.

Kayleigh's bedroom...

Sydney's bedroom...

Guest room / Home office for Kevin

Family room (the wall with the octagonal window used to be orange)

 Front Hallway...
This area is quite large. I took this from the front door and I'm looking to the right. There is a storage closet, a hot water heater closet, the master bedroom and a door to the hot tub outside. At the end is the family room, and the space to the left before the family room is the dining room.

Kevin got me this table for my birthday!

I took this one from the front door, but looking the other way.

I'm not sure what we are calling this room...part of it is the homeschool/office area and part is another family room. Maybe this is the living room since there is a fireplace and no tv.

This photo (below) really shows how open the house is.

The hallway in the above photo goes to the girls' bedrooms, bath, guest room and laundry room. And there is another huge storage closet in the hall.

And now the kitchen...the heart and center of the home. I am loving this kitchen. The layout is similar to the last kitchen, but there is so much more space. These cabinets are hickory and are gorgeous. They have the soft closure feature...and ALL the shelves (pantry and cupboards) are actually drawers that pull out.

I'm learning to love this farmhouse sink...I'm not a fan of having my dish drainer on the counter, and it doesn't work very well to keep it in the sink.

I'm also adjusting to the side by side refrigerator/freezer combo. I've never had one like that before.

This bar between the kitchen and the dining room reminds me so much of the house I grew up in. There was even a corner wall where we kept our telephone and I spent HOURS sitting there talking to my friends.

And I have a great place to keep my Nicaraguan "bowl"

And probably my most favorite feature of the house...we have a spacious dining area. It's actually too big! But it's SO nice to have room for ourselves and for guests.

And I'm so glad we bought this light fixture in Bend. It's unique and adds a fun touch to this space.

So that's it! (minus the bathrooms and laundry room). We are all settled in and mostly organized. I still have to unpack the homeschool boxes, but I'll do that soon so we can get started.
