A Golden Birthday

We celebrated a golden birthday here! Kayleigh turned 12 on the 12th and we had fun playing on the theme. It was also fun to decorate in our new house. 

I made pumpkin muffins with gold sprinkles for breakfast and Sydney added this Lego guy.

There were lots of golden decorations and golden gifts. 

We really had fun celebrating this girl! The girls both had their classes at the Christian school, but it was a delayed schedule so we had most of the morning together. There was even a party for Kayleigh during the marine biology class at school! 

And these two photos capture the essence of Kayleigh at age 12...she loves to practice her flexibility and dance poses.

For most of this past year, Kayleigh has been going to a friend's house (Tabby's) once or twice a month to bake.  This past week they made two buttermilk cakes...one for each of their birthdays (Tabby is turning 30 on the 15th).  When we got home, we decorated it with gold and blue sprinkles. And somehow (Sydney) the Lego guy ended up on the cake.
