Sunday

After worshipping with our church family, we headed east to sunny skies (it looks gray in these pictures, but we did have lots of sun). This is the Deschutes River area - where the Deschutes meets the Columbia - and is about 70 miles east of where we live. The terrain here is very different from the western part of the Columbia River Gorge.

I recently got a Joby gorillapod and we thought we would give it a try and get some family pictures.

We found a fun rock and tree to play around in...

We saw several lizards, but they were too fast to catch. Sydney and Kayleigh found these giant beetles.

  2. Really cool beetles, Syd! I've never seen such big ones before! You're so brave to pick them up and hold them - I couldn't do that, I;m too chicken!
