Weekend Camping Trip - Day 2

After a decent night's sleep and breakfast, we packed up our camp and headed to another campground. Kevin gets bored quickly and likes to be on the move, so our 2 nights of camping were to be done in different campgrounds. I was fine with moving on as the first campground was really, really dusty and dry. Every time you took a step there was a cloud of dirt that rose up. The campground did not have running water, so it was hard to stay clean!

We've been wanting to hike in to a site to see if we could do it and found a campground that would allow us to try this.

We consolidated our stuff as much as we could and looked for the most secluded site. We considered this one because of the fantastic view of Sisters mountains, but it was a little close to the trail, so we kept looking.

We found this one....

It seemed to be the farthest site, but carrying our stuff there was doable. We made a couple trips and set up camp. From our site we had a great view of this little lake. I waded out into the lake and took a picture of our campsite. You can barely see it tucked into the trees.

Like the first campground, this one did not have running water - only a vault toilet. But we had a lake here that was shallow and swimable - perfect for cleaning off. We didn't have swim suits along, but it didn't stop us.

Kevin built a little raft for the girls to play on.

And I couldn't resist finding some flowers to take pictures of.

Here's our campsite

And the girls had their own campsite to play in next to ours.

Because of the dryness and risk of forest fires, we weren't allowed to have a campfire.
