Our hike the other day was only 10 miles from the coast, so we decided to head a little farther west and spend a few minutes there. I mean, why not...it's the ocean!
The weather man had said earlier that the coast was the place to be on Saturday - that it would be clear and sunny and blue skies. Clearly he was wrong. In fact, it was sunny back home and quite cloudy at the coast. Still, the coast is the coast and always beautiful.
Kayleigh got a kite for Christmas and although it wasn't very windy, we gave it our best shot.
There were a lot of seagulls and when I got closer to the water I realized why. Several crabs had washed up with the waves and the seagulls were literally eating them alive.
This guy (and all the others) were alive, but had already lost enough of their legs that they couldn't escape.
Sydney was so sad and determined to save them.
We didn't stay long. It was cool and my fingers were killing me with an attack of Raynaud's syndrome.
Beautiful pictures Jill
